BUT WE LOVE YOU ED, sniff sniff

We will never turn you out to pasture......

sad truth though here in New York too; 40-50s have TONS of experience but can't get the same job as an associate's degree holder at 19.

My son passed his STATE college physics final from a highly accredited engineering program. He has continually lamented that he has YET to get anything physics related from this professor- it is all 8th grade stuff (review says the professor). one semester of physics though, and that's it. hope they don't have anyone going into any missle programs real soon! my son shivers at the one guy who already is a civil engineer going for a promotion to develop highways but can't traverse angles (think of tying your shoe for engineers). what's that old adage about ' not being worth the paper it's written on...?'

Hope everything goes well tomorrow for all hanging out in the breakroom!
Get the maid to give the place the once over with the mop though, things are moving on the floor tiles and i DON'T think it's the pattern.......
Keep armed Dually from shootin' holes in the floor now too!

It's the same everywhere, not just in NY. Most of the people getting degree's can tell you the chemical composition of a shoelace, but can't tie the thing if their life depended on it. It's sad, but there's just no common sense anymore.

Now that I've had my rant for the mornin'... the 's ready! Second pot actually. Someone else made the first one and it looked like someone dipped a brown crayon in hot water. Either that or it was that foo-foo garbage. I didn't try it, just made new.

For anyone that might be interested, here's a link to a buncha pictures from the Massachusetts task force. They had an explosion incident in an ink manufacturing plant that was located within a residential neighborhood in Danvers Mass. Flattened the plant, but destroyed the local neighborhoods as well.

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning DTRonians! I hope you all have a safe day out there today. Has anyone seen ED? I thought I heard snoring when I walked by his office, but his chair is empty......He has probably rigged a hammock in his closet

Think I will wander down to the break room and grab another cuppa

After laboring thru this thread I think it should be re-titled "This weeks bad 'coffee' and live dough 'nuts' non-news"
Had to do an unexpected rush trip to Mexico City late yesterday. Not too bad getting into the city, but it took me an hour and 20 minutes to get from near the city center to the outskirts (the first toll). Just love the stop and go traffic. NOT!!!! 6.5 hours of non-stop driving. One benefit of the truck is that I can "bulldoze" my way into the traffic as the size intimidates the smaller cars. OK, OK, I know that is a form of bullying, but if I did not do that I would still be there waiting for a break in the endless inching along traffic.

You could ask the janitor to try adding a jalepeño or two to his so-called kawfee and get the doughnut supplier to bring some curry flavored doughnuts.
On second thoughts, perhaps not, as this has the potential to only produce more hot (flavored) air here.

Morin' all, it's Tuesday, I think, 12/12
Warm 64 no rain so far is Houston town. Everybody out school or work.
Have an orphan cinnomon roll to take care off with more

The Chrysler town and country is still at the dealers, an adjuster from the extened warrenty company wants to look at the loose/worn front end parts to see if they are going to pay for it. The clunk clunk thunk sound.

Yup, hear ya on the associats degree for a job. Most now want a bachlors for an entry leval position. My wife, Shirley, found that out. She has lots of expeience, but no degree, she will be starting online college in January.
Got her present job as they have seen the quality of her work, and she takes the initive to get things done.

Lets see, if I remember right mechanical engineers build wepons, and civil engineers build targets.

Be safe out there and have a good un.

One down, one to go for the day. Gotta love 8:00 am finals. Only 5 of us (out of 45 for the specific class) where from the class that was assigned to this time slot, to which the regular class time was 2:00pm (the rest are going to take the 11:30 tomorrow)(don't know why I didn't). Had another 5 from the other time slot. Now to get "semi" ready for my next final at 3:00. I don't know why but "Someone Save Me" from Shinedown is playing in my head.

Found a guy that seems to have returned to campus, I commented on the way he was hobbling, he had messed up his knee. He was in Ranger training and a week before graduation they where jumping and his "battle buddy" forgot to check his chute, both chutes failed. So this guy I'm talking to came up to him and said to guerrilla hug him, so he landed on his knee with an extra 280 lbs, and this guy makes me look like I'm on my knees beside him. (I'm 6'1-2 depending on what convenience store I'm leaving)
