Hello people, sheeple, sheep and goat lovers, shrew lovers and haters, DTRonians and all the sundry rest. It's been a long time since I stopped by to try the coffee, ph00 and sundry food left laying around. All I can say for the coffee at this time of the day is that is wet. But why does it feel gritty? Wait, don't tell me, because I may not really want to know. Yeah, I know, nobody missed me. Sniff.

This bunch these days sure are not as gabby as few years ago, but y'all still do OK. Being praying daily for Bob and that situation. Just took a quick glance back at what has been going and see that many of you have been going thru some hard times. So sorry to read about that. May all of you who are battling whatever life is dumping on you, soon see a permanent improvement.

A quick update on what has been happening to me. I am writing this from home in Mexico. Still need to go back to China in August for my final stint. The company keeps on asking me to stay longer, but had more than enough. Leave that place no later than Dec 20 for good. Dread going back, but need to wrap things up. The day after I arrived home (almost 1.5 weeks ago) I got VERY sick. Turns out I have hepatitis A. This is the mildest version of hepatitis, but whatever I ate in China hit my liver extra hard and to put it mildly, the last week has been pretty rough. Lost about 7 pounds already. Have turned the corner on this, but apparently I need to take it very easy for a few more weeks, even tho I may feel great. If I do not, I risk a relapse and have been informed that any relapse is worse than the first bout. As this sickness is so contagious, have been in isolation in my own home since arriving. Feel like a pariah. Needless to say, all my vacation plans are in a shambles.

In March my whole family is gathering for the first and probably only gathering of the clan. We will meet in South Africa where a lot of my family live. Folks are coming from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and of course, Mexico. I will take my wife there and give her the holiday of a lifetime. She has never been to South Africa. After the gathering, we will spend 4 -6 weeks touring the country. Been doing a lot of planning for this trip.

Boy the weather north and further north of me sure has been crazy lately. Here at home you could not wish for nicer weather. Puurrrrfect!

'Nuff for now. Maybe more later.

Stan, Great to hear from you. Wow, even Hep A is still nothing to laugh at.
Also, the older you get the worse it can hammer you. With that in mind, you are lucky to be alive.

Uh, I really don't know how that applies here but figured I would throw it out there.

Stan - good to see you back, sorry about the liver, that just sucks.

Chaikwa - do you have that conveyor geared so that you can get enough speed to launch Scotty all the way back to Saskatchewan from Kalamazoo?

Back bacon is cured pork loin. It is VERY lean. Some people prefer it as pea meal bacon, the same cured pork loin but it is rolled in pea meal before it is cured.

I am still shocked about Fiver's granddaughter, that is going to be a tough row to hoe.

Dinner here tonight is chicken kebabs and sweet potatoe fries. That should hit the spot.

We had a good productive day today but my allergies (hay fever) are really starting to act up. I really need my farmer friend to come cut the hay soon. This is the week usually cuts it. I need the pollen to just go away.

We don't have any storm warnings yet but something nasty is brewing up north of us. Plesae don't have it come the way, DW has been working really hard on her garden, I would hate for it to get hailed out again this year.

Evening all. Looks like last week got busy toward the end. Been busy here as well, headed to Ohio tomorrow to see family. My grandson is here for another couple weeks and I'm shut down for about the same amount of time. My mother (78) hasn't seen Hunter since he was 4 months old so I need to make a trip home while the stars are all in alignment. I hope I survive the week. I've gotten pretty used to handing them back at the end of 1 day.

Ofcmarc, congrats on the promotion and the kids.

Heidi, anybody can fall out of bed. You just happened to do it when a mosquito was in the air.

How are you pressing it in? I'm not a fan of driving it in.

Wow, that's awful Stan. Wish there was something I could do for you, but it's kinda far for me to go every day just to make your coffee. Take care of yourself and don't get impatient.

You ever SEEN him? I *might* get him to clear the cornfield!

Yes, it's a bad situation and he doesn't deserve it. No one does, but especially not him. Bob is about the nicest, most sincere person I know and so is his wife. I post a daily reminder for all of us to at least think of him and keep his family in our prayers because I KNOW he'd do it for any of us.

That sounds so dirty when you say it like that!

Chaikwa.....it's VERY nice of you to mention 5ver everyday since his situation arose.....and some people think you are just a crabby ol' janitor.......THANKS for keeping he and his family in everyones thoughts!!!!

Now....about that conveyor you built......nice job.....but could you at least put MATCHING bias ply mud grips on the thing??? JK. Looks very well built.

Got the news this evening on the way home from work that my son wrecked his truck!!!! Dang near 100 miles from home.....now I gotta find a trailer to get it home. He's a counselor at a church camp in Midlothian, TX (just south of Ft. Worth) and was only about 200 yards from the turn in of the place when he lost control in a wet curve and smashed the whole front end of his truck. At best, the frame ISN'T tweaked! It's July and we haven't had rain in over a month but today......it's RAINED......and rained a lot and down here we are VERY thankful for it right now. He's okay and I'm thankful for that but if I find out he was messin around with his dang phone I'M GONNA BE SEVERELY PEEVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only time I have to go get it is gonna be this Friday so maybe.....just maybe.....if Shorts checks in and sees this she might be willing to lend a hand. Any help will be much appreciated. Talking about it (or typing about it) just makes me mad right now so I better go find myself an episode of Texas Country Reporter and unwind. Ya'll take care and I'll talk to you later.

Any hepatitis is nothing to laugh about! I count myself extremely fortunate that God allowed me to be home when this this hit. It would have been a nightmare had this happened in China. At least here I can be in relative comfort in my forced isolation and eat very healthy foods conducive to my rapid recovery. In China there is no way that I would be recovering as fast as I am right now. Hope to officially off the contagious list in a few days. Yes, in some ways I am lucky to be alive. Must have been preserved to come back and stir the pot here at DTR.

Trust me, I had no intention of staying away so long, but circumstances on site in China made it necessary for me to continue this 'short' term project for a while longer. Let's just say that many things have not gone the way the company planned. For sure, that is a very different culture over there and consequently do many things quite different to the way westerners would do it. This makes things ummm, difficult.

If you only knew how much that bothers me... But they came with the axle and that was given to me for free, so I guess I shouldn't complain. But I will any way!

Hope your son didn't get hurt in his accident. Shorts was just saying the other day she wanted to take a road trip, maybe she can go get the truck and give your son a good talkin' to at the same time!

Morning all.

It's MONDAY! July 15th.

1870 - Georgia became the last of the Confederate states to be readmitted to the Union.

1885 - In New York, the Niagara Reservation State Park opened.

1901 - Over 74,000 Pittsburgh steel workers went on strike.

1916 - In Seattle, WA, Pacific Aero Products was incorporated by William Boeing. The company was later renamed Boeing Co.

1918 - The Second Battle of the Marne began during World War I.

1942 - The first supply flight from India to China over the 'Hump' was carried to help China's war effort.

1958 - Five thousand U.S. Marines landed in Beirut, Lebanon, to protect the pro-Western government. The troops withdrew October 25, 1958.

1965 - The spacecraft Mariner IV sent back the first close-up pictures of the planet Mars.

1968 - Commercial air travel began between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R., when the first plane, a Soviet Aeroflot jet, landed at Kennedy International Airport in New York.

1971 - U.S. President Nixon announced he would visit the People's Republic of China to seek a "normalization of relations."

1985 - Baseball players voted to strike on August 6th if no contract was reached with baseball owners. The strike turned out to be just a one-day interruption.

1987 - Taiwan ended thirty-seven years of martial law.

Today's thought:
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.

Coffee and ph00 is ready for your consumption.

Give a thought or two to B0b today!
