Need help with lift kit choice?
I have a cummins powered 2006 3500Mega cab and am looking to run 35inch rubber or the close metric equivilent. I'm not sure of how much lift I would need to clear them and what kit would be the best option. It won't be used for serious offroad but I will have a sled deck on it for about ten months of the year and travel on rouph logging roads. On average it will be hauling about 1300 lbs on the deck and pulling a 3000 lb trailer. I've heard from a few people that have lifted there newer dodges that there have been camber problems with some of the lifts which leads to steering instability on the highway when hitting bumps or uneven pavement. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

I run a 4" Skyjacker lift (w/no issues)however I believe several have had good results w/the KORE lift. I wouldn't recommed trying to "piece" a lift system together as the components are engineered to work together. One other point...whatevery system you install run Bilstein Shocks...you won't be disappointed.

Just do 2 inch springs up front with the rest of the stuff you'll need and like a 1 inch lift in the back. That's what I've got in my sig with my set up. That kit includes leaf packs which replace your overloads and give it the around 1 inch lift.
It will fit 35's as long as your wheel backspacing is higher than 5.5.
Pretty standard set up. I can put about 500 in the bed and about 1000-1200 on the tounge without it squating much at all.
With the 2 inch I have the swaybar spacers but I wanna get longer better swaybar ends, I have added an adjustable trackbar which you really don't need because there are other options but the trackbar is nice I have, Bilstein 5100 shocks and 2 inch springs. I am going to get some 1/2 inch longer control arms to center the axle but they aren't necessary but for $250 they are worth it IMO.
You can piece one together or call around there are like 3 guys you need to deal with search it.

If want a cheap way to run 35's a "leveling kit" will do the job. My friend has one on his mega cab with metric tires that work out to be 34.5 tall I think, with no rub. Basically a 2 inch spacer for your front coil spring. My buddy kept his stock shocks in front. I have a leveling kit on my '01 and added the longer bilstein shocks in front - worth the extra $ I think.

Give Kevin a call at High Rollerz trucks in Calgary. He carries both Carli and Thuren products. He also is quite a sled head, he now has started getting into high performance sled parts as well.
