Just curious, but would any of you 3rd Gen owners step down to a 2nd Gen?

Depends on the circumstances. I wouldn't get rid of my truck for a 2nd gen. Kinda like taking on somebody elses headache..

btw, went and test drove a Grand Cherokee with the 3.0L diesel Mercedes engine. Trying to convince the wife to let me get it... really nice.

Bryan, ever since our conversation about 1/2 tons, I have really taken a liking to those F150's. Maybe after the winter........

In my opinion, just mine and take for what ever it may or may not be worth.

The F150 is the best 1/2 ton truck out there when it comes to crew cabs! That thing is quiet, pretty fast and decent on fuel mileage. The ride is great and has great looks also. The crew cab is the best looking F150 in the whole line.

Put that, the diesel motor all in one package and I would take a serious look at it. Needless to say the comfy ride.

Yeah man. I talked to a guy with an '08 F150 and he averages 17-24mpg with a city/highway mix. Pretty good considering it has the 5.4L, 3.73's, and 18" tires. I seriously will be looking at one in the spring. I have a feeling that snowplowing is going to be a bust this year, and if so, I am going to get rid of my plow, salters, etc... No need to have the plow when there is no snow anymore. Oh well, we will see what happens.

Mike, you will probably end up in a nice Hyundai or Kia

The F-150s are nice trucks for sure, my g/f wanted one in the worst way, and given gas prices, I am thanking God that she opted for an all wheel drive Fusion

Currently shopping around for a car, with fuel prices never stopping it is time to grab a cheap commuter car to beat around in. Hopefully the CTD is going to get some vacation time here pretty soon...

Anybody want to go out to Island Dragway Friday night? Nov 9th? I went last weekend for street night and it was pretty fun. I will probably be there this Friday too trying to get some 2wd traction. Let me know if anyone else is going to be there and we can meet up.

Well, another productive day off... Ordered the first part of big brother's birthday present, traded in my old subs and box for a new JL and under seat box, split a handfull of wood, and now it is off to help brother get moved back into his house (forced bathroom remodeling due to leaky old *** pipes...)

Hopefully I will get home early enough to start my next expedition, lifting the back seats about an inch for sub clearance Life will be good when I have bass again

How is everybody doin these days? Good to see you joined up Barry, like I said I will see if I can make it down there Friday night...

What ever happened with Mr. Tom's test from weeks ago?! Never heard much after the fact... Are you going to keep the truck in spring or ditch it for the F-150?

So proud of my truck right now, topped off the tank last night for a mere 3.21 per gallon, and calculated out a bit over 18 mpg. That is with the puck usually off, and predator on a performance toon. Puck came on occasionally for fun, but not consistently.
