Put on a new set of Bilsteins and they have helped the ride tremendously. At 50k, I did not think the shocks could be shot and they did not 'feel" bad when I took them off. I have not experienced the death wobble on this truck, but it did seemed to have become less stable on RR tracks and odd angled bumps.
I hated to spend the $300.00, but wish I would have put them on 20K miles ago.

Same here. Felt like I got a new truck. And, a set of new batteries made it run like a new truck.

I was going to order some and checked for any local stock, then I went on a trip and came back and read a real bad review on the Bilsteins on this board... Good to hear a positive review!


Did you get the 5000 series or the made-to-fit? Where did you get them?

I got the Yellow and Blue set from Geno's Garage. I do not know what model they were, and I have already discarded the boxes.

I always take reviews in totality. I find that some people have a mission to run down a product no matter how it performs. As a whole, I find buyers like the Bilsteins. I had two sets of Rancho 9000 and 5000 series on other trucks and found them to be great shocks as well.

Yellow 5000, Blue/metal 5100's. Mine were great at first but now after 30k on them not so great.

I installed the 5100's, GREAT shocks, do a really nice job taming the bumps and such down. I have no complaints, will buy them again when replacement time comes around.

i'll be replacing the shocks soon on mine as i have 101k miles and i think i have the stockers on still. i can only imagine how much of an improvement the ride it will make.

I just ordered some of the 5100 yesterday. But they will not be going on until I buy my lift.

So, yellow and blue are stock, the silver 5100 are made for a lift.

Do you guys think the silver 5100 shocks are more generic and therefor not as nice as the made-for-your-truck yellow and blue ones?

With a leveling kit, what would you guys recomind? 5000's or 5100's

At the time for me 5100 were all they had for the front. And being as **** as I am I went with 5100 rear so they looked good and the same. I should of done yellow 5000 rear instead. My dads truck is much smoother in the rear and front, but he got the 5000 all around(stock height though)

I think you can run stock shocks with a 2" leveler.
