East Coast Truck Nationals
The ground and roads are wet and the sun is out right now (9:00am), but the local news is saying it will be raining by noon and on and off the rest of the day. However, it still is looking good for tomorrow.
Hey guys, I said in earlier post i was going to make this but discovered last week i signed up for a FEMA disaster response class about a month ago. I totally forgot about it so i will not be able to make it,and sunday is definitly out. But,i would like more info on Jeff Garmon's event in November. I can't find anything on it. I heard John and Jeff talking about it at dinner after out dyno. Can i get some info and who is going?? Thanks Augie
You can read the info on Jeff's Dyno Day HERE
Dennis:
Can you or Tim Barber keep us posted on the weather for tomorrow up there?
I have been watching the "Weather Channel" and our local weather and right now it is showing clouds and rain over Norfolk/ Richmond until early tomorrow.
Thanks.

Great time had by a few.....but still a great time
Even though the rain washed out Saturday, a handful of members were able to cruise up to this event on Sunday. I arrived a little after noon to find John P, RATTLINRAM and MikeD all finishing their first time trials. I was a little too late to register. Lots of big rigs and show trucks of all sizes and makes. It's an awesome sight seeing something with ten-wheels or more that can outrun my STOCK truck and do a longer burn-out. Question for you Mr. P. What name does Steve go by on here? That was one of the cleanest best running trucks I've seen. A single 24V running 11.60's.
That's a wow in my book. Some of us had to cut out early due to the time of our rides home and were unable to stay for the finals. I'm hoping that Dennis will chime in and give us those details. Otherwise the weather was perfect and my son and I couldn't have had a better time. Monster trucks, side-by-side jet car racing and all the chrome one could stand
. Can't wait till next year.
Thanks again for the oppurtunity to be a member of such a great group of guys.

Chris:
Steve goes by the User Name of "ctd89-99" here on DTR. I posted up in the COMPETITION Section on his win. And you are right, that truck of his runs GREAT! I sure didn't have anything for him last weekend.
My ring and pinion are SHOT in the 96'!
300,000 hard miles will do that!!

I had a great time as well! It was good to meet Ryan and Steve and I've got to say,,,, that truck of Steve's is unbelievable. I stayed till the end and after getting run down by that red beast in the semi-final,,,,,, (I think he actually drug the brakes from the starting line so he wouldn't make me look too bad,,,)
Steve won the SuperDuty class and then won the run-off with the winner of the RaceTruck class to take home the money and big trophy!
He and his wife are really some nice folks.
All in all,,,,, I made out pretty good as the $50 check for coming in 3rd paid for my day with a little left over.
Now all you guys in the NC chapter need to do a fund raiser so John can replace his aging rear,,,,,, and Mike can get some new boots!
Just kidding you guys,,,,
