Another good NTDTR meet! Got a lot of wrenching done and put away too much of the cold bubbly stuff.

As always, it was great to have the regulars here and one new guy, Fade94 (Wayne). Wanyne is a really nice guy......but he is such a liar. He actually what's us to believe he's not going to bomb his truck. He has his gages in now, his recently installed FASS and has had his tranny beefed up. I'm not sure, but I think the hit off of my Smarty may send him over the edge.

I got my transfer case fluid changed (thanks Rowland) and my new 180* thermostat in. I'll let the others post the work they got done. Mostly good stuff, but one sad headgasket story. And no, it was not Tyler.

Charlie if someone chimes in that they could have helped me with my VB install I'm gonna be sicker than I already am.

Sorry I missed another one, but I have a pirate patch on my eye and that other made for a bad week.

Howdy Tommy,

Good to hear from you, but sorry to hear about your eye. If we keep having these long enough, maybe you and Kevin will make it up here.

I don't know if these guys have VB experience, but there is not much they are afraid to tackle. I'm continuously amazed at how savvy and capable some of these young guys are. Rowland has has the wisdom and they have the ability. Me.....I just use my many years of management experience to try and keep the menagerie organized.

Get better, and I'll be in touch.

If we don't know how to do a VB install, we'll just figure it out on your truck

Another good meet, another good fire and even nice weather this time.

VB stands for Velocity Bellows right? Yeah we do those all the time, they just go inline with the turbo. Come on out, we'll hook you up new2ctd

I hate to let the cat out of the bag, but I'm sure some of you are wondering about BrIan's truck. The last time I talked to him (about 30/40 minutes ago), they had the truck loaded on Mike's trailer and were heading south.

A GREAT BIG, THANK YOU to Mike for hauling him home. Like I have said before....a great bunch of guys!

So I take it he ended up with water in the oil after all.

Big thanks for Mike for lending a hand and getting him home.

He made it to McKinney, but was loosing oil and decided to pack it in. A good lesson that head studs alone will not always protect a head gasket. I'm sure that when he gets through with it this time, we'll be seeing a little more than the 500+ hp he has now.

First, let me just say....I will NOT bomb my truck....I will NOT bomb my truck
I'm really glad he made it home, it sucks big time what happened. It was my first time out, and it was great. Since my truck is stock, I was uneasy about drilling into it. I have lots of gas motor experiance but no diesel wrenching.
A big thanks out to the following:
Charlie for a great place to hang and the chili and that nifty little pwr window mod.
Brian for setting my APPS and hooking me up with a high idler box. LOVE this thing. Can't wait to get it hooked up to my remote start box.
Mike for the use of the right tool to tap my manifold with.
And all the other guys for a great weekend.
Can't wait for the next one.

Yes I fear it is true... I noticed a higher than normal level of antifreeze in my overflow as I was preparing to leave.... Popped the cap to see a wonderful mix of brown clumpy mix floating in antifreeze Drained and flushed the coolant to see if maybe the hard WOT runs were taxing my HG and maybe I could refill keep boost low and baby it home....

I checked my oil in (insert name of small town on 121 here) and it was just below full... Drove to Mckinney and checked again... right at add mark No water in oil but man bout a gallon of oil in the radiator!!!!

I reluctantly (being one to absolutely HATE putting someone out) called Mike who was gracious enough to bring his beautiful (read: beautiful, work of art, dove tail raising, hydraulic winching, Ranch Hand accomidating trailer ) and a take-off set of tires to me (380 and I-75). After many measurments by two of us who were so tired the tape measure numbers were blurring to figure out if the trailer was wide enough... Decided the backspacing of Mike's stock wheels were the ticket. Swapped the tires (old fashioned way, 1 at a time, Dodge jack and all) and prepared the trailer for loading (winch drops the back hald of the trailer to form fold to ground dovetail loading ramp)... After much reasurance I loaded my truck (didn't want to scratch all of that stainless and aluminum).

Fit was well as everything else Mike does dang near perfect!!

After some trailer testing and tooling around we set for Denton. Arrived at my house, and unloaded. Then re-swapped the tires... The old fashioned way(read above )

We sat down had a burger and here I type...

Cannot thank Mike enough!! Just as I was telling him, the group of guys we have is outstanding!! No where else have I experienced a group of more free willed giving people than in our North Texas DTR meets!!

The plan is to tow the truck to my shop next weekend and pull the head... Wish to have it o-ringed. Need info those of knowledge please respond!

All-around great meet sucks to loose a HG, but she will come back stronger than ever!! Had a great time, was great to meet Wayne (Fade94) as well as "where's my keys??" Ryan!!

There was something hot about that fire!!! My once hair on my knucles will tell u!!
And just as I fixed that fire.... I will fix the truck!!
