Would be unusual if they are going bad. VERY few reports of trouble under 250,000 miles.
Have you got the friction modifier additive in there?? Tried tight turns as a check?

What are your symptoms?

When pulling a heavy loaded 5er up a grade on damp, frozen ground, it felt like it slipped out of gear. I thought I has spun a little and put it in 4-low, it then grabbed and jerked like I was trying to let out on a clutch then it pulled fine. Got up the hill and got into an argument with mud that I won't go into now. Unhooked and took off up the road and it was doing the same jerky thing then stopped. Hooked back up and no more issues, until the next day. Went to pull out of a parking lot with no trailer but decent grade. Did the same jerk like I had shifted out of neutral. Got back and took the truck to the guy that built the trans. He checked it out and said the trans was a little low ( dealer trans service before leaving) but not enough to do anything. However, he did say the rear end did not feel like it was right. I just want someone I can trust to check it out so I will know if I need to just change the fluid and additive, (due since Oct.) or if repairs are in my future.

Detail the tight turn test for me, RJ, please?

Keep in mind that this is a LSD.....not a Locker. The LSD will have some slip if you do have low traction on one tire and high traction on another. nothing you can do about that. BUT what the LSD will do is give some Bias to the side with low traction. You can stack the deck somewhat (OR clutches in this situation) to make the LSD function a little more noticeable...but it will NEVER give you a full 50/50 split unless both tires have equal traction to begin with. Meaning both in mud, sand and such. If you get one tire in the air, or on in mud/sand and the other on pavement, It will help better than an open rear end but you will notice a lot of slip.

Got a better test for ya.....rev it up with your foot on the brake until you start a spinning.......and see if you get 2 black marks.....

Talk to Robert for more specific instructions.......(Dang it Robert…..you can kill an anvil with a rubber hammer cant ya! Wore your fnt end plum out with a burn out!)

I'd tend to agree with ya but I don't think that's the problem. My turbo easily supported my 155's. Sure I still hit 1500* but there was no smoke when the turbo lit and I was running 90-100mph. I don't think it'll have a problem with these injectors. I could definately use some more air but I don't think that's the problem. One guy on here with TST/Catcher/Mach 8's/Phat Shaft 62 did 571hp. Identical to mine. My buddy with bigger injectors than me, drag comp/smarty/64/14 turbo did 566hp. I know this combo will put me well over 500hp. I have no doubt in my mind. I just wish this pump would give me one dead pedal or throw a code or something to prove once and for all that it is the pump. The second it does that I'm throwing a new one on here but until then I'm just gonna run this one.

... any binding, popping, jerking or associated noises while 5-15mph

My Dana 70 would only do it in one direction at the right speed - could just barely feel it.

Have you checked the fluid level, Wayne?

No offense - I don't know who they are, but I don't trust anyone with my equipment unless I know them and/or watch them do what needs to be done.

Besides, if your pinion seal is leaking, you might not notice the fluid was too low until it was too late (don't ask me how I know - that's how I blew a spider gear through the rear diff cover of the '98 )

I'd take a few minutes and check the fluid just to be safe.

Unfortunately, this was before I knew you guys. My injuries prevented me from doing it and I had already waited too long.

Are you healed up enough to check it yet?

If not, feel free to come by the shop one day this week and I'll check for ya.

Do you guys think we should start a thread for the drag racing next month in Ardmore?

I see Rowland has already sent out the info/signup for the track - I'd like to go ahead and get it on the schedule if we can!
