I hope you made it back home ok. Please accept my apology for whatever role I played in that mess.

Had a good time guys. Now I'm just looking for some good weather so I can get some testing time on the new turbo. The ride home was uneventful other than on and off rain all the way. Steering felt better, less movement in the steering wheel than before. Thanks to Tyler for the steering bushing install.

I managed to get the downpipe clamp closed up the rest of the way when I got home, so it looks like that leak is all fixed. I also discovered I had left one exhaust hanger loose, so I had a little extra noise when I made it home after a trip down a rough county road. The new turbo seems to be doing well. Even though I couldn't get much play time on the wet roads, boost was up and EGTs were down when passing on the highway. I can't wait to get home and play with it some more....

I'm glad all went well with the turbo, bushing and the trip home. When you get back, maybe we'll have a little GTG in Sadelia.

Glad to hear that you like that turbo Justin. Wait till you really get to play with it. That's when you'll really enjoy it. Glad to hear that your bushing is working. I love mine. It's working perfectly.

Charlie, I was thinking about a Sedalia meet whenever my tranny gets built. That work for you?

You know me....I can get a vacation day almost anytime I want to.

Sounds good, just give us a little time to plan.......whatever.

How did you Mom get through the day? Anything close?

She got through OK. Barn started filling up with water so she had to get out there in the middle of it and clean the drains and broom the water out and what not but she managed to get through it. She had to do that at 3:30 in the morning yest as well. Needless to say she's very tired of rain.

Well it went good on the stick equipped trucks. Not so good on the auto's. Ask me how I know. It's real simple to install. Look at the steering shaft coming out of the fire wall. Remove the bolt to the upper u-joint on the shaft. Then get a grinder and cut off the spring and the little retainer in front of it. Once those are off you pull the bearing out(it's inside the holder, you'll know it when you look at it). Your gonna need a long screwdriver and a hammer to dent the top so you can get a hold of it with a pair of pliers. Once that's out, clean the dog snot out of the shaft. Hit it up with some emory paper or something and degreaser and make sure there's absolutely zero grease on there. Then, take some polishing cloth or something like that and polish the snot out of the inside of the bushing and make it baby butt smooth. Once that's done put some grease inside the bushing, not a lot, just enough to coat it. Slide it on the shaft back towards the fire wall and using a piece of 1 1/2" PVC pipe and a hammer, hit the bushing into the firewall until it's all the way against the groove. Reinstall the u-joint thingy and your done.

Thanks for the compliment! I hope to see you again in the future.

Somebody needs to get a Houston/SE Texas DTR chapter going so we (N.Texas) can all get together with yall once or twice a year. I vote MikeyB as President.
