Central Illinois and Indiana area

I live in Annapolis about half way between Terre Haute and Vincennes on the Illinois side of the Wabash river.

I do not know how many DTR members there are in this general area but was wondering if there is any interest in starting a Chapter in this area.

If I am not mistaken there are no chapters in either Illinois or Indiana.

Comments solicited.

Thanks for the invite but living on the east side of Illinois that is a bit far. I have not checked with Scheid diesel that would probably be a good idea.

With 28 views and no replys I an beginning to think I am getting an answer as far as interest is concerned.

Some times it takes a few days to get enough readers.
I haven't been the best in attendance in the GDOA, but I do enjoy the day out.
I also may be one who drives the farthest.
Any members watching?

I called Schied but they do not know of any clubs or chapters of any kind in this area.

Thanks again for the reply.

Farmer Jim,
I live not too far from you. I'm about half way between Robinson and Lawrenceville. If people show an interest, we'll see what we can get figured out

Thanks for the come back Andy and ta3834bbl if there is enough interest maybe we can get something going. I am not really a "bomber" I do have a TST PMCR but run it on 2/2 most of the time. Just like a little extra power and torque over that of the SO, especially for towing 5er. I do beleive that if the interest is there we could all benefit from each others experiences and knowledge. I have plenty of room here at the farm for a get together if it should come to that.

Lets hope so.

You probably could make the GDOA meetings when they are held in Edwardsville, IL. You are only 2 hours away (maybe +15mins) to the park where a lot of gatherings are. j-fox lives 2 hours away and makes the trek many times a year. We also have a lot that come from between 1-2 hours away all the time. Try us out some time, you may like it!

David

The park is not very far off I-70 in case you might be wondering where it is located. It is between Edwardsville and Glen Carbon.

Thank you for the invite. j-fox had suggested GDOA in an erlier post. I see in another thred that GDOA is having get togeather this weekend, is that open to visitors or just for club members?

I was thinking that the St Louis area was a bit far but with 103 views and only 8 responces and half of those mine it appears that there is very little interest in trying to get something going in this area. I just might try to make a GDOA meeting.

Thanks again for the invite.

FarmerJim, this weekend's gathering is in St. James, MO and is open to anyone with a diesel powered truck. If you may be interested in attending, email Rammin On from the other thread. He could give you directions. It would be a 3hr and 45mns travel for you. That is a little trek but it will be fun. Rammin On has a diesel repair shop at his place. There might be a little wrenching going on, you never know.

We don't have a "members" only type of club. It is open to all who want to attend. I hope you can make one soon. Look for the threads about every two months or so.
