I'd like to make it this year. I say that quite often though, then at the last minute "stuff" pops up. I think if I had my OWN calendar with events I wanted to do on it I might have better luck. The wife doesn't acknowledge Diesel Truck events as important.
The September event sounds cool, I will be slower work wise too with the end of Summer and all.
For directions, calendar, etc. ;

No biggie, everytime I drive it I think, why is it I am looking at a new truck again? I hate to start over, even though I'm not as deep in it as most of you guys, I still have over $2,000 into it in the last year or so.
We'll see. Pretty boring showing up with a bone stock 2006 anyway, huh?

well my tranny is out and goes to be fixed tomorrow, my parents have graciously decided to loan me the money for the DD until i get paid for some sidework i did last week. my dad figured it was pointless to put the tranny back in if im just gonna pull it AGAIN in a few months to put the DD in. i cant wait, its gonna be my first hook in front of about 5-6,000 people so i hope i dont screw up!
I always make it down to the Buck to see the rigs or pickups pull, ..it's about a 2 hr trip for me too. They will be having the side-by-side drags, it was just one of the previous events this year that they were planning to have the drags instead of pulls, but the insurance rep suggested they have pulls instead of drags only. ..I'd rather see them pull anyway
. When they drag there, it's really about 150-175 ft, I'm sure they'd like it to be longer, ..but when you're already up to about 30-40 MPH, better safe than sorry to have ample stopping distance, otherwise you'd be skidding out into the pit area, Not Good!
The price should be $12 for the pickup nights, but for the East Coast (ATPA) truck/tractor night, that price usually jumps to $15 though.
I think I'm gonna give it a shot at the drags, last time a 6.0 PSD won and there were no good running auto-Dodges, ..just trying to level the playing field
. We'll see what kind of a joke comes out of the tug of war too this year, last year it was a battle of who has the heaviest truck. It came down to a F-450 flatbed vs. a full-utility boxed F-350, both 6.0 engines.
