Hey Prospector, I promise that I am gonna call you one day. I keep missing the calls and get busy during the day. Man I am busy. Between the FD, regular job, and the WOMEN, I dont have time for nothing. I WILL however be going to Nashvile the 17th!

Well, I've made a little progress on that vacuum pump ( working a little bit at a time).

I've got all the power steering lines loose and all the vacuum lines except the little braided steel line on the back side. I also removed the nut that holds the negative battery cable to the side of the PS pump and moved the cable aside. I still don't want to order parts until I know for sure what's broke, and the extent of the damage.

As for the Draw Straw project, The fuel gauge says 3/8. If I finish the vacuum pump project I'll drive it 'till I burn off enough fuel to drop the tank. If I do this project while I'm waiting on vacuum pump parts then the fuel can go to whoever whoever drives the furtherest to help me.

Well, I got that vacuum pump off, and my diagnosis was correct; the drive coupler broke.
A piece of it went thru the pump and scarred the face a little bit. I"m not sure if that is significant or not.

Anybody know of a better deal than FixinRam's? Here is a link to his current ebay ad.

If ya know of a better deal let me know real quick, because I want to order parts tomorrrow!

While I've got everything apart, I plan to do the power steering mods.

I promise if you aint broke it, I sure as heck wont.
I am almost affraid that I wont get in it hard enough on the dyno to make it do what its capable of!

While we are on the subject though, I noticed while standing in the garage the other day there was a nice puddle of oil on the ground under it. Upon further inspection it was found the oil filter was leaking. I slapped a new one on it and all appears to be good again. I didnt run it much but I figure by the time I get to nashville in it if it hasnt leaked then I fixed it!

I was just sitting in the reading room at work and scrolling through my contacts in my phone and thought to myself, " wheres billygoatyj been". I guess now we know!! Whats been going on with you? You want to follow me up to the dyno day?

Well, It's good to know someone was thinkin of me. I've just been working. As for the dyno day, I've got stuff to do that afternoon so I'll have to make the next one. I think you'd have to give me a head start anyway, following and keeping up would be a challange.

If we have and April meet I should be able to make it as long as it's not on the 21. But the other Saturdays could fill up fast.

On a not so good note. My truck had a little dead pedal the other day about three times. But it only did it that little bit and didn't throw any codes. Maybe it will play nice for a little while longer. And my fuel gauge works sometimes and sometimes not. So I plan to check the wires this afternoon and see if I can find a loose one.

Billy goat is a BAMA fan, so I wrote him off long ago.. lol

I am planning on heading to Nashville also Dmax. Not gonna get on the rollers though. I don't know how long it is gonna take me to get there either, but I have not researched it yet. Make sure my SMARTY is in SS truck. I am having withdrawals. The six gun is feeling fast again, and I remember when I first put the SMARTY on it that she felt like a whole new truck..
