Modtr-30 Wrench Day
Well the tear down is done. The only unexpected problem I have is it looks like I'm in the market for a turbo. When we started taking the truck apart I noticed it had some up and down play in the bearings. Upon further inspection I noticed the blades have been scraping the inside of the housing about 1/3 or the way around. Is there some one in the KC area that can repaire my turbo or should I just start looking for another one? And If anyone has a used turbo lying around the shop that they are willing to part with for a resonable amount don't hesitate to give me a shout.
The next step is to send the head into the machine shop to get checked out. I was planning on useing the shop we have our race engines built at. They don't do diesel head on a regular basis but have done them in the past. I'm good freinds with the owner so I should be able to get the work done for a resonable rate if they have time to get it in. Does any one see a problem with useing this machine shop or should I find a more diesel spacific shop to do the inspection?
I forgot my digital camera but tried to take some photos with my cell phone but DTR's site would not acept the formate so I will have to get some more photos later this week.

If they are just gonna magnaflux it and deck it I would say go for it. Theres no special tooling or whatnot for that I wouldnt guess.
Post your pics on photobucket and then just add the link with the button that looks like the earth with a chain link. Pretty easy im just barely able to type and I got it eventually. Shoot sometimes I forget to breath.
