im just saying buddy, i underestimated the trip with the trailer last year big time. this time i am going prepared and am stepping up the game to be competitive in my class.

if you wanna find a trailer and someone to haul ya down there, thats cool, its a good time for sure, but its really is more than just a simple drive down there, it really becomes quite the excursion when you pull a 12k load through the mountains 700 miles

id have no problem throwing my smarty on a low level and driving out there myself. the stack would get a little annoying but i trust my truck to make it.

im def gonna go prepared to compete tho, last year i came in not having a clue being my 3rd pull, unprepared and took 10th out of 22 in the superstreet class...there are trucks in the 800hp range that can run super street.

Just to bump this up, and figure out who wants to stay in my 5th wheel. I have room about six. I know Travis has said he will and TJ is thinking it over, I believe. If you do plan on staying in the 5th, then I would only ask that you kick in for the fuel. I will handle the costs at the camp ground and my fair share of the fuel costs and probably bring along a good amount of beverages and food. I can't justify dragging this camper down for just myself and one or two guys. It would be as much or cheaper, at that rate, to stay in a hotel and maybe ride with someone else or tow another truck, if there is a trailer available.
Also, when do we plan on leaving and returning? I'm guessing leave here early 4/24 Thurs. and leave there early 4/27 Sun.?

I will definately stay in the 5th if it makes the trip. I agree, it is a long drive so I say leave early, early on Thursday, say around 3-4 am. As for coming back it won't be that early I believe, but I would say leave there by 9-10 am. I also think that everything needs loaded the day before so that we are not trying to boom down in the dark and in the am, too easy to screw something up that way. We need to get together with everyone that is planning on going and figure out who is towing who, who is riding with who, etc...

A hotel room will cost about $225 max for 3 nights depending on which hotel we pick. May be able to get a room with 2 queen beds for as cheap as $55/night.

Hauling the camper down and back at 11mpg (worst case scenario) will end up between $500-600 just for Todd's truck. Travis towing my truck will be another $500-600 in fuel.

If the rooms are that cheap I think it is better to get a room than tow the camper down there. I have heard that the rooms are going quick already also. We need to figure out who is going so we can book rooms, we can always cancel extra rooms if we do not need them.
