Door Rust

I know its been a while since we've been together but everyone I'm sure remembers how I take pride in the appearance of my truck - which is also my daily driver. Now approaching 175k miles the running boards looked like hell and the doors were rusting as most do on these trucks. I took it in last week to be fixed and will be picking it up Thursday AM. Will post up some pics of how it turned out. Once I see the repair last a while I'll share the name of who did it.

Looking for some 315/70/17s or 35x12.50x17's....

Finally upgraded to Chrome H2's but I cant seem to find a good deal on tires now.

And if anyone is interested, I have 80%+ BFG AT 285/75/16's on stock 2001 aluminum wheels for sale too $700.

Here are a few pics of the repair on my doors. They were rusted about 2" from the bottom on the driver's door, less than that on the passenger door. A lot of paint was coming off the running boards too (previous painter didn't prep correctly I think). Just wanted you to have an idea of the quality.

Over the last two weekends or so I took a bent, wrecked and rusty Bumper from a State Highway Ford Tow Truck and turned it into a winch bumper for my dodge. Its been sitting on my scrap pile for 3 years. Beat out the dents. I added a winch plate inside of it, Just didnt cut out the fairlead holes yet since I dont have a winch for it at this time. I used the new Bed Armor from Duplicolor for a coating. Overall $200 into this project. $100 of it was the bed liner kit. Which I used 1/4 of a gallon.

Before

Finshed.

Also stole this tire carrier from a buddy of mine. Working on making it fit my rig.

Thanks!

not that heavy. maybe 150lbs. The main uprights of the winch plate is 1/2", the winch plate is 1/4" and the rest is 1/8". I can lift it by myself and install it.

Suspension question

Stopped up to Keene for alignment they found a few things:
-LF U Joint - funny they replaced it May 09
-Tie Rods have some play
-U/L Ball Joints
We can check it out when we get together. My question, aftermarket parts (Dynatrac) or Rock auto (MOOG)? BJoints I know are a PIA.

Your thoughts?

Nice Keith. I hardly drive my truck anymore. It just sits in the Cave. I've got a 93 Cherokee that does the DD for me.

Spent $700 bucks for it, 192 on the clicker - wouldn't run. Jumped it and drove it home. Replaced the alternator as it tested bad. Still wouldn't start. Uninstalled an aftermarket alarm - it starts every time. Tires won't pass inspection - so waiting on the mail order tires to show up (as no one carries high mileage 13" tires in stock) then on to inspection and tags. Hope to have it on the road this coming week. Any recommended inspection stations in my neighborhood (If I can't find one I may take it to Glen in Kingsville) would be appreciated - but she's in good shape so I'm not worried.
