Anyone on been on Workers Comp before? I was in a accident today in a company truck on company time. I was rear ended, and it proably totaled the guys 97 Dakota. but his frame rails hit my class 5 hitch and heavy steel rear bumper, so not much damage to my truck, just one hell of a hit. This happened at 3pm and I've been getting sore'r and stiffer as the day went on. So I went to the Doctors, they checked me out, said your gonna be sore etc. and then asked if it was work related and the Doc changed his tune. Now I'm off til friday and get re check by the doc again to clear me. I really dont feel that bad at all but he says I'll feel it tomorrow....

I'm really feeling like I'm wasting and abusing Work Comp, but its Doc's orders....

Am I wrong to think this way?

Rick

I hope you feel better Rick.
It's up to you what you do. If you feel fine you can go back to work as long as work doesn't require a release from the Doc.
Most people would look at this as easy money. If you want go get a lawyer and get some money. Like most people do.

I dont want/need a lawyer....Just wanted some pain pills for my soreness and get back to work. The Doc kept saying, no work til you get my release...

Oh well, **** happens I guess.

Never been on Workers Comp but if it is a work related injury make sure to get a doctors release prior to returning to work. If not and something is actually wrong they might say you did not follow doctors orders and you are SOL. If you do not feel sore go talk to the doc, worst he can say is no you can not go back to work yet.

I wouldnt drop it so easily after my ordeal. I consider myself I pretty tuff guy and thought id brush my accident off. Well few days later and im still freakin dying in pain..........went to the docs, 4 or 5 ct scans, therapy, 20k in med bills, etc. 2 years later and im still in pain all the time. Im not saying take advantage of the system at all, but you dont want to blow it off and it turn out to be something serious and then you're hosed. Right now I have 3 compressed disks and am probably guna need surgery in the near future.........And I didnt feel that bad right after the crash......couple days later was a different story. just food for thought man, cause ive been thru it already. Just my .02
