New to site from Alberta.
New to site from Alberta.
Hi everyone, just want to say a quick thanks to all who have posted information. I am new to the Dodge Ram Diesel (was a blue oval boy for many years) and have to admit I am kinda liking it. I have read many threads over the past year and used alot of those to help fix and build myself a nice ride. I fixed up my last little issue this morning (T/C lockup switch) and am feelling pretty good. Picked up my truck with 230,000 km on it and in rough shape, have replaced almost everything you can (some not so happy about) and think I finally have something I can trust and enjoy. Will be looking to upgrade the turbo next and will be looking for some advice when it comes time.
Thanks for putting together a great site!

Chopper, welcome here from a fellow resident north of the 49th.
Since you are new here there are the Chapter Forums and Alberta has a very active group. Lots of knowledge about the Cummins and members that will give good advice.
Check them out and introduce yourself.

Chopper,
Welcome to the community. I joined about a year ago and am so happy I did. At the time I was brand new to the diesel world. I like knowing how my vehicles work in detail, so,when I joined I asked where I could find the CTD bible to read. I was told that the best CTD bible was this site and the folks on it. I have done a LOT of reading on this site and now I actually feel that I have a pretty good knowledge base for how my truck works. I have asked a lot of questions, been polite when answers weren't immediately forthcoming and never slammed anyone for their suggestions or opinions. By following those basic rules, I have had so much success on here that I can't believe it. I thought I needed a new track bar last fall and a member from Okotoks sold me an upgraded track bar that he had in his garage for about 50% of retail. This summer my A/C needed a top up and I couldn't find the right refrigerant in any of the DIY shops in Calgary. A member of the site from Drumheller stopped into my place on his way to High River, hooked up his gauges and refrigerant bottle and topped me up. He only asked $12 for the service. I actually paid him more than that but that was my choice. There is nowhere on the site that is a bad place to go. If you are looking for local help, definitely stop by the ABDTR #5 forum. It is a really active and helpful group of local folks.
So, welcome. Ask lots, answer lots if you think you have a helpful idea for someone and you will really enjoy and find value in your time here.

Hey ramped, the wheels I have where on the truck when I bought it and are almost identicle to the Eagle 059 except mine are not the chrome. They have the dull alum. finish, would love to change them over to full chrome or full black rim, just don't have the cash right now. Will maybe have to see if anyone on the site has a good used set.
Thanks SWC, Diesel Dav2 and TallGuy67, will be looking for lots of feedback soon, will have to ask around about a good used twin turbo setup for my truck, something good for towing. I have noticed that there seems to be more and more older Dodge diesels running the roads now than in the past, seems everyone is donig the same, taking something that will last for ever and giving it a second chance.
Thanks again guys
