New guy in EDMONTON AB.

My name is Terry. I just bought a 1996 dodge dually 5 sp. I have been checking out the DTR site for the last couple of months. I`m really impressed with the knowledge base of you hard core oil burners. Looking forward to posting, and getting your imput.

Welcome to the DTR!!

Take a few weeks and read through, there is lots to get here and don't be afraid to post your questions.

Hope you make it out to a local chapter event for a chin-wag.

Welcome to DTR! Lots of info to be had on here (seriously you'll find yourself reading oodles of stuff, often late at night).

Hope to see you at a chapter meet sometime

To the question from MADHAT. I will carry a heavy slide in camper. I want to increase fuel economy, and decrease turbo lag.

Thankyou for the invites to chapter meetings. Even though my address is Edmonton, I don`t spend a lot of time here. I winter in Laughlin NV. and spend a good chunk of my summer near Gimli Manitoba. I would sure like to meet some of you guys, who`s postings i read on DTR. You are certainly a wealth of information.

If you hit the quote button at the bottom of the post you want to reply to, you can do that ^^^^^

Well, if you are gonna put in a slide in, I'd look for some airbags, I do not have them, but from what I hear, they are a night and day difference.

You can get a mild programmer that will bump your fuel eco a little bit, and speed that turbo up a little. You can always go to an aftermarket turbo, but that's $$$.

Getting an aftermarket Cold Air Intake (CAI) and exhaust system will help the turbo spool a little faster, and help with a MPG or 2. There are a few DIY CAI's here on the DTR, I have done one that probably cost me $75 with the aftermarket filter included.

We have a towing/hauling/RV forum, go there and tell them what you want, they'll point you in the right direction!

Hope this helps...

It`s going to take me a while to figure out how to post on this site. Not only am i diesel illiterate.... I`m also computer illiterate! The dealer i bought the camper from in Silver City, stongly advised me to install air bags, which i did.
I`ll take your advise and post on the towing/hauling/Rv forum, to get more details.
