HELLO I'm Ark Slim a full time rv'er and new owner of a 04 ram 3500 5.9 diesel w/3.73 and4speed auto tranny. I pull a 5th wheel that weighs about 13,600#. I could use a lot of info as a new diesel owner. Based on the above what sort of milage should I expect? I'm getting about 8mpg towing (65mph) and 17.4 running empty at about 68mph. Is this about right and if not what would ya'll suggest to improve or improve anyway . Other than driving 55. Also what suggestions on programers, fuel suppliments?
Currently we are located west of Houston. Thanks for any help on the above questions. I think I'll enjoy and learn a lot from this site.

 

Sounds about normal for what you're pulling. Take a look in the 3rd gen performance section for info on programmers and other mileage enhancers.
