I just completed a cummins swap on my 1978 f-250 crew cab. the donor truc was a 1990 dodge 4x4 with a three speed auto. I swapped the auto trans for a nv4500, and got a coupling from second hand smoke to mate the automatic 205 with a nv4500. I replaced the ford axels with the dodge axels. I did a converson on my 1949 ****** pick up, 350 chevy,350 turbo auto, 205 trans, ford 9 inch rear and narrowed dana 44 front axel and I thought I knew what I was getting into. It turned out to be a lot more than I expected. I did a ton of fab work and ton of money and two and a half months of work. I got it on the road and it runs out great. I have a few bugs to work out. but it was worth the effort. the old gas motor got 9 mpg and I now get 18mpg in town and twice the power. plus no computors to worry about. proud to be a new member of DTR
