01 Dodge 2500 terbo with Lance
Retired: Iron Ore Miner and US Navy
Love my noisy P/U Even purchased on Ebay.
Having problems now, and tired of pay dealer ripoffs. Going to need some help
learning how to repair what can be done on the road.
Just finished replacing lift pump ($176. from cummins) vs (around $1400. local dealer) wanted. Right now will only idle, code 1693 will not clear. Also has 251,
252, and 1688 that can be cleared but the first two come right back with a delay then 1688. Going thru it a step at a time till I figure it out. Just tired of different dealers with different answers and $80 to $120 hour labor costs. Worked in electronics/electrical most of my life and quite a few different cars and trucks (never a diesel) so could use some help from anyone if you have a mind too. Codes, ghost code, where to look for manuals and so on.
Never posted on a forum before. Tks Lew

Hi Lew.
You'll get better tech help if you post your question in the "24 valve engine and drivetrain" forum. This forum is just a place to say "hi."
Definitely buy an FSM for your truck. You can get them straight from Dodge ( https://techauthority.gltghosting.co...atalogId=10051 ) or through Geno's Garage.

Thanks to wannadiesel (admin) for the polite pointing. Read a lot of the threads there and although my news isn't good, have already learned a lot from just reading. Will move it. Thanks again Lew
