I'm checking my comp wire to make sure i have the right one tapped, there are 2 sets of 2 wires, one wrapped ina a mesh and one wrapped ina plastic, the set wrapped in mesh has 2 wires and the one i have tapped is the hightest one is this correct or do ia have to use the other set, i picked a bad time to do this its -20C right now.

 

Check out page 14 of this manual. it is a PDF for the Edge web site. it clearly shows the correct wire to tap.

I know you didn't ask,but I'd skip that wiretapping thing...its bad for the IP.
My rebuilt IP made it 30k
At 21lb at inlet all the time.

 

Its the luck of the draw. Sure, the tap dosnt help the vp. However you cant blame the dead injection pump on the tap. Cause you never know what could have happened if you didnt tap it

ive seen some un - tapped vps last only a few thousand miles. and ive seen some tapped vps run 100k or more.

 

Sucks to have to play the lottery like that.

 

Not tapping the wire is NEVER bad for the pump though,while sometimes tapping is...that was just my .02
