wipers stopped working

wipers stopped working

hopefully somebody on here can help me.i have a 98 24v 3500 ram.the other night the wipers stopped working i checked the fuse inside the cab and it was blow.put a new one in and blew instantly.the dome lights now stay on for about 20 sec after i start it.where could it be shorting out. thanks

it sound like you shorted out your wiper motor. Had this happen when a large snow mound slid off my roof, and caused my wipers to stick. 165 at the dealer, but i have since learned that if you search the web you can find it a lot cheaper...

Disconnect your wiper motor and turn the switch on; if the fuse doesn't blow - you've got a bad motor.

My problem was with the multi function swich on the steering column? I wasnt blowing fuses mine just all the sudden stoped working.
