Whoa, hold on a sec. This problem could easily be a shorted wire in the harness. Find the wires going to the motor and use an ohm meter. If it doesn't show that there is a ground then I would look at the motor.

Didn't happen to try and wipe a window full of snow recently, did you? If you think you might have, I'd check the intermittant module before going onto the motor. I smoked one a few years ago on another brand vehicle.

Why yes I did try and swipe a load of snow. Will this cause it to continue to blow fuses?? Is there a way around this module??

Had the same problem on mine- removed the wiper motor and took off the black magneto cup. Cleaned and resealed it, everything OK since then.

Yes, it can. The other thing that may happen is they get stuck on. I'm not sure where the module is on the Ram. My guess is it's near the steering column.

I had the same problem with my 02'. Drivin down the road and poof! It would blow the fuse, put another in and it would pop it right away. Took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong and it would not do it for them. They put a new fuse in and sent me down the road, about 3 months later it did it again! Back to the fealer it went and it did it for them this time. They replaced the motor and it did nothing still blew fuses, so they replaced the wiper switch. Worked fine for about 1 month and it "snapped" when I turned the wipers on one day but did not blow the fuse. And that is the last time I have had a problem, it just stopped doing it. ???

The wiper module is located under the cowl grille. Take your wiper arms off the rig. Pry up the little black snap buttons holding it down and remove the cowl grille. You will see the module right in between the two wiper arm posts.

Re:wiper motor??

The wiper motors are available through aftermarket rebuilders and are pretty cheap.

Re:wiper motor??

George,

The local auto parts store did not carry it, and see as more snow is on the way I decided to pick one up at the dealer.. It only set me back $105.00. Considering they quoted me $115.00 over the phone I thought I was getting a deal.. Hopefully I will have time to install tomorrow after work, and it fixes my problem.. My fear is that I also burnered up the switch.. Won't know till I install the new motor.

Re:wiper motor??

Replaced the wiper motor and it fixed my problem so far. I am waiting to see if the switch is bad, but I am guessing that it is OK.. nothing else is wrong... Hurray
