Post Will the tranny hold??

I have a 97 2500 automatic like i mentioned in the post earlier. Im wanting to do some engine mods but i want my tranny to hold up. If i put a deep sump tranny pan and a performance valve body in, what could i get by with in engine mods? Injectors? cam plate removal? air intake mods? or will i need to beef the tanny up more? Transmissions arent my thing...someone help!

Depends on how crazy you want to go. First thing I'd do is install a good valvebody and then have the bands adjusted. That should allow you to put a plate in and slide it forward some. If you want to go with injectors then I recommend a good torque converter and valve body. Dave Goerend at Goerend transmissions has some great prices and builds some top notch stuff and would be perfect if you don't feel like going just stupid insane with the power. I also very highly recommend DTT. I'm running just their valve body and I'm holding over 400hp.

thats a complex question...it all depends on what the rest of the tranny looks like inside...u dont know the condition of the seals and the cdlearances in the tranny....a VB will increase ur pressures...the pan may lower overrall temps...but the higher pressures could blow out seals that are aging ...if ur really excited about performance then save up the extra money and wait a lil longer and get urself a full tranny built with a solid TC

i like http://www.gbtransmissions.com/

he quoted me somehting like 2500$ for everyhting including a triple disk TC with a full trans...i think it may have gone up slightly...

i have the same thinking as u ...lets do a couple mods like a TC and VB and i can go nuts...well i have all kinds of seals going every year on this aging truck...so i dont wanna know what condition the seals are like in my trans (original one)
