wild steering o.d. in and out

wild steering o.d. in and out

i have a 92 dogde w250 I have a little steerig problem when i am going down the road the truck goes back and forth and when i make a turn thr truck will be turning fine and then it will jolt off in the same direction. i also have a problem with my overdrive kicking in and out and seen were you can hook your over drive up on a toggle does this work good.

Your steering problem is probably a worn out idler arm, quite common problem. The shifting problem can be fixed for about 2 cents with a cotter pin and 20 min of your time with a volt meter. I will try and post pics soon. Any good front end shop should be able to help with your steering. Good luck.

Check the steering box mounting bracket. It is common for this bracket to come loose as it is held with only 3 bolts. I tack welded the bracket to the frame on my '84 Sno Commander.
