White smoke

Yesterday the truck shuddered going down the road but then was fine and I didn't think too much of it. Today I started truck and noticed whiteish blue smoke from tailpipe. As I drove into town when the truck would go into overdrive it would begin to shake the whole truck and I noticed that if I slipped it into Neutral that it was idling at about 13-1500 rpm's then in about 3 seconds it would drop down to normal. All the way to town and back it was blowing a pretty thick cloud of the blueish white smoke (1/2filled the shop as I was backing it into to look at. I ran the codes and came up only with a P0303 which I think is showing #3 cylinder missfire? So does this sound like a headgasket? or is there a problem with injection somehow? Coolant level normal no white or foam in oil after shutdown. Any ideas on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance Farmer B

Exclamation

Sounds like a injector to me.... 99% sure it's injector, but not having fuel in your oil gives me 1% doubt... Becareful, somtimes the injector stays open and will burn a hole in your piston. That happened to the guy I car pool with on his 05 truck...

I had the same problem about 3 months ago with my truck. I took it to a dodge guru and after about 1 hr we found that injector 4 was not firing and injector 6 was not closing so i replaced all 6 with 90 hp injectors. I make sure you have not popped a head gasket. Start the truck run it till she is warm and squeeze your upper radiator hose if you can squeeze it then you gasket is good if the hose looks like it is about to bust then you may have a head gasket popped and leaking coolant into your motor. Never know this is what i did and info from my dodge guru

p0303 only tells you which cyl is down, probly inj or at least started that way could lead to burned piston if not corrected quick
