What year is my truck?
What year is my truck?
My door says 01/00 but the VIN number pulls up 2001. I need to know because I am looking at getting a EDGE comp tomorrow.
Ive read on the site where the 01-02 comps will not fit on the 98-00. Is this true?

Go by the VIN, but let Edge know what's up when you order. Better safe than sorry. You might want to consider the TST PowerMax 3. It's a bit more agressive than the comp, at least from most people's experience.

From what I understand the number on the door is the date your truck was built. This can be a year earlier than the model year. For example if you go to a dealer today you will already see cars/trucks for sale there that are 2005 models. The accurate way to know the model year is to go by the VIN.
If it's a 2001, the tenth digit will be a "1". If it's a 2000 it will be a "Y".
I have worked on several 2001 model year Rams that were made in early 2000.
They made engine changes for that model year, and started manufacturing early.
