Question Vba Install Question

I am in process of installing a VBA on my 00' but ran into a big question. In the destructions, it say's to solder the black wire from the VBA into the "black wire with tan tracer" My issue is that I have (2) black wires with tan tracer on the black plug. I checked continuity between them but it does not seem that they are common. Any ideas? I'm just itchin to try my new torque converter and valve body I received from Goerand Bros. and this is the last thing I need to do.

Thanks!

A "Valve Body Assistant"

To be honest, I have no clue as to what it is for. I ordered a new torque converter and valve body from Goerand Transmission and the VBA was in the box as well. I'm guessing it's for filtering data going to the ECM.

If you give Dave a call he will be happy to explain where to splice it. I watched him do it this spring, but I can't remember the details any more.

I like what I hear about this Goerand's transmission. I think I will be calling them when my auto finally bites the big one.

After doing some further digging, both wires I was pondering on are common to ground so I got it hooked up. I can't believe the difference in my truck compared to the old set up. I about died when I took it out the first time though. After getting the fluid levels up to snuff I took it out on the road and babied it for about 5 miles and got on it. It was a dead horse, no power at all on the bottom end. At first I thought maybe I unhooked my Diablo Puck to save on my "soon to be shot" tranny before I rebuilt it. So I took it back to my shop and looked but that wasn't it. I took it out again and drove for a few miles thinking maybe I had some crappy fuel in the lines or somthing after sitting for a few weeks. That didn't do anything. I just happened to have the passenger side window open when I got on it again and heard some nasty whooshing and figuerd it out. I removed the turbo while my tranny was out and drilled / tapped a hole for my pyrometer probe. I didn't get the clamp set right on the outlet of the turbo. I was still building 20 psi boost pressure even with it leaking. After getting that fixed it was right back to 26 - 27 psi. What a difference that makes. I was sweating for a bit. My worst thought was the injector pump being toast. I am due for that as well. 185,000 miles and never touched, except for 2 or 3 lift pumps.
Anyway back to my transmission. I cannot say enough good about the products and personal technical assistance I received from Dave Goerand @ G&B Transmission. From the first time I spoke with him I felt good about the whole thing. Although you may need to wait a bit for him to get back to you, it is worth it. I left him a message Saturday when I first posted this strand about the VBA wiring not really expecting a call back untill Monday, He called me Sunday to see how it was going. Although I had it figuered out by then, I thought it was pretty nice he called me Sunday. As far as pricing goes, I checked pricing on all the big names before going with G&B and they are all pretty close. But I feel the technical assistance during and after the sale is 75% of "not feeling like you got screwed" If that makes any sense.
I bought a "triple lock" converter and a G&B valve body as well as a stronger shifting lever for the 2nd to 3rd shift and had my neighbor rebuild it for me. I also put in a new input shaft and hub I bought through my local Dodge dealer at the advice of Dave. With the parts from Dave, the Dodge dealer, seal kit, bearings, and few other parts I ended up with about $2200.00 in parts. Call Dave for information on his stuff, you won't be disappointed.

Regards
