Valve body help needed!

What is the trick or proper way to get parking rod off/out? Got everything except that and for the life of me I can't seem to get that part.

There should be a small gold E-clip that holds the end of the rod onto the little arm on the valve-body, I'll try to get a picture. I scared the crap out of myself when I went to re-install mine I pulled the rod right out of the tranny, luckily it just goes back in where it came from.
Now this is all from my experience with my 47RE so it might be different on your truck, but if it isn't hope this helps.

Seems to be a decent guide with pictures, good luck!

Jack up the rear end and turn the tires a little with truck in neutral. Put it back in P and try removing rod again. It might take a couple of times, but when everything lines up it will fall right out and go back in just as easy.
