I think thats the safe move.....but the dealer would not have welded the factory cover back together ? would they.? wouldn t they just use a new cover?

And second....who ever fixed it....could tig weld.....wouldn t they have tabbed or something the kdp?

I ve had my truck for about a month....got it at 155k miles...second owner new nothing when I asked....he only had it for a couple months.....

opinions?

You'd hope whoever fixed it tabbed the KDP back in, but I agree with your instinct to pin it anyway. Won't hurt anything to pin it even if it's already tabbed, and you'll sleep better. BTW, how 'bout that jig from Harold? Did you get the fan wrenches too? They are sweet!

Yea, I pinned it anyways...I was alittle afraid maybe they pinned it straight....and that I would drill into another pin...but not the case.....Harolds kit is perfect.....and yea I got the reches too.......now I can do 9 more.....

I d bet its tabbed also but either way it is not going anywhere now....

Took about 2 hrs total....I could do again in probably 1 to 1 1/2 hrs....

I also stuck on a large round air filter.. it mated with the turbo rubber hose perfect and removed the silencer....

lets see.....gauges, exhuast, turbo, injectors......should have that done in about 10 weeks......
