So i put new edge stage 2 injectors in the truck and double checked the whole procedure.when i went to start the engine, it took a while the first time (normal). BUT, since then, every time I start it now it takes way too long to start (50-70 seconds) so I thought perhaps the heating grid was bad but I tested it and it works great, I knew the batteries were on there last leg's soooooo $300.00 later and 2 new batteries. Still cranks too long, there is a newer lift pump in it, 14-15 psi at idle, i crcked te injectors when it was running to see if there was an air leak but the second i loosened the line nut it started to sputter so they are all tight. Is it possable the VP44 isn't delivering enough volume of fuel at start-up? If so is there an upgrade kit.
Any help would be great, thanks!!!!

checked the whole system for air leaks, right back to the sending unit, but I couldn't find any so I made an air leak by lossening the injector line nuts one at a time and as soon as I started to loosen one off (there was no fuel leaking yet) then it ran rough. When I shut it off and start it right away it isn't bad, still more than before, but if I let it sit for more than a min. it is a P.I.T.A.
Did you touch any fuel lines from the vp back to the tank whe you did the injectors? Double check all the injector lines where the attach to the vp for leaks. Did you change the copper washers on the injectors? You shure you didnt damage and cross over tubes?
No I didnt loosen any lines on the VP pump and I put new copper washers and O-rings on. I thougt about the cross over tubes but I was pretty careful with them but I guess anything can happen right? I might put the stock ones back in this weekend and see if it makes a difference

Check your oil level. Then in a few days after running it check it again see if it changed. But You have either a serious air leak or got a bad set of injectors. These engines will start on only 3 cylinders so somewhere air is getting in or fuel out. Park the truck with the front end goin down hill if possible and see if anything changes with starting it.
Got it Fixed!! turns out following the isntructions didnt pay off. If anyone is doing injector work, MAKE SURE the injector hole is absolutley dry!! I used brake cleaner and shot it in the holes to get rid of all the oil and gave the copper washers a quick sand with emory cloth to resurface them and then I took all the cross over tubes to the emory cloth aswell, to take any little burr off the end of them and a round needle file to clean the inside of tip. Put the injector back in, then the tube and very lightly tightened the line nut while wiggling the injector to make sure the cross over tube was 100% in the right spot. Finished putting it back together and it fired right up within 45 sec the first start now it is a total of 3 sec crank time when cold.
I hope this helps anyone else!!!!
