Turn A\C ON and Kills Engine 97 12v auto

My 1997 12v Automatic will choke down labor and die when the A/C is on after it has ben running for a couple of minnutes. It only happens when it is in gear, Drive or Reverse with your foot on the brake pedal. It is like the (fast Idle solonoid on a gas burner) engine is starving for fuel. If you give her just a slight amount of gas she is Ok however no gas and it will stall and quit running. I have checked my high and low pressures on the A\C system and they are normal. The problem has slowly gotten worse. In the past it would only stall in reverse while backing my boat down the launch ramp while applying the brakes. I could remedy this by throwing her in Neutral or just turning off the A\C now she has slowly gotton worse where she stalls in drive with the A|C on and Brake applied. Does it have a high idle solonoid or something that advances the throttle when the ac is on? Is the power stering pump working extra hard to supply the power brakes? I am not sure where to start searching for my problem? Thanks in advance for your Help.

Have you checked and set your idle speed lately? They do need periodic adjustment. Check here for the instructions.

Remember that the idle speed is checked with the the transmission in drive and the A/C on.

You need to have the engine retimed. The idle speed slowly drops over the years as the timing starts slipping back. Get it set back to where it should be and your idle will pick right up, you will also regain the power you have lost over the years.

While having the timing checked isn't a bad idea on an older high mile 12V, fshiola's information will give you the results you are looking for.
