No headlights=turn signal broke=shattered window
I started up my dodge last night at around 10pm. When I turned on the headlights the parking lamps were the only lights on. The bright light indicator in the instrument panel was on though. If I switched the bright/dim lights with the turn signal lever nothing would happen and the bright light indicator in the instrument panel stays on. The previous time I drove the truck was earlier in the evening with only the parking lamps on. So now I've got no headlights and I also broke the turn signal lever off at the steering column because I was mad and shook the handle to hard. Then to top that, after I broke the turn signal handle off I tossed it to my right and it struck the passenger window SHATTERING THE WINDOW!! So is this problem in the multifunction switch? How hard is this to get into?

"So is this problem in the multifunction switch?"
If it wasn't before, it is now.
(I know the feeling, I just say it's genetic from my Scottish ancestry)
There was some discussiong of the multifunction switch a while
back. You might find it on a search. Seemed somewhat
reasonable, maybe a particular trick or two.
Good luck,
Lowell

Just a plain ole guy
I think I would have stopped with the lights wouldn't work, and not told the rest of the story. Your issue could have been the rotary switch for the lights in the dash, which should be about a 5 minute swap. Now your going to find out just how much stuff someone can pack into a steering column. And a door.
