Trucks making a ticking sound[intermittently]
the sound come and goes,sound like its coming from the turbo side of the engine,checked the exhuast manifold and gasket,they look good,it is a 53 block but dont see any cracks.waterpump?67,000 miles??

Whens the last time the engine had a valve adjustment? Mine had a ticking noise noticeable at around 1800 RPM. I did a valve adjustment (I have good pictures of the process in my gallery), and now have no strange noises.

I think you're hearing the injectors. You might run some heavy additive to see if it helps clean them. If it doesn't go away, take it to a shop and have someone experienced listen to see if they need to pull the injectors and check them. I think your just hearing the normal noise though. The v-8's seem to be more of a steady tick, while the I-6 gives an appearnce of a miss in the ticking. Just my limited experience.

u sure its from the turbo side?....double check that ur drive belt isnt squeeking/ticking a bit.....they say that a worn out overflow valve can cause ticking too
