Truck won't start

Truck ran great at lunch. When I tried to start after work....nothing. No click, just won't start. I found the 20A starter solenoid fuse under the hood blown. I replaced it once and it blew again. I think the solenoid is bad. Do I have to replace the entire starter assembly ($200) or can you just replace the solenoid? Does this sound like the problem?

Hopefully just the solenoid. My fuse went out a month ago and it took me all day to find it. Who has a starter fuse??

Do not spend a dime on any fix, until you do the one outlined here. Everything else is a waste of money. http://www.fostertruck.com/contacts_install.htm

I agree. Take a look at my pics to see what old contacts look like. You can rebuild most of the parts that wear in these starters pretty cheap.

Starter solenoid contacts were bad. A local "shop" changed the contacts for $35. Good as new.

wow, sounds like you are driving my truck. three weeks ago my 99 lost the injector pump and lift pump ($2,100). Drove it for two weeks then yesterday it started just fine. drove it to get fuel and it would not start, click or anything. I let it roll back and popped the clutch and it started. However, the speedo does not work, abs light and airbag lights are on, power windows do not work and fan on the heater dopes not work. Are all of those related to the same fuse?

I don't think so. All of the auxillary things you mentioned worked on my truck when the starter fuse was blown.

Yes, I think the relay is in the fuse box under the hood next to the fuse.

I found the relay but are you saying that there is a fuse as well? If so, where is it located?
