truck wont start
truck wont start
06 5.9LITER 2500 4X4 MEGA CAB When the truck is runing it runs fine but if you let it idle for about 5 min it will die .and will not start unless i pull the fuel filter out and put it back in. So i took it to the dealer it has 28k on it still under warranty 4 days later they tell me they will no cover it . They say it had dirt in fuel and would have to have all new fuel system for 8k.they also told me they did a test on lifter pump and it was working so they said . when i would pull the filter out there was fuel and when i put it back in and turned the motor over fuel would go every where. So does that mean the pump is ok or not ?
There seems to be a few things wrong here , start getting documention on all this , and the last couple on places you got fuel .
Dealers are getting harder to cover there products , a new truck should have a good enough fuel / filtering system to handle some bad fuel [ obviously within some limits ] & then go through swapping out filters , and work , we should have to mod a new $40,000 truck / car , to work , almost like a fuse in the fuel system .
I've thought about putting in a dual bypass fuel filter system .
Something els on the wrong side is the lack of specifics , fuel pump , what pressures , [ fuel would go everywhere ] ?
Dirt in the fuel , the filter should not pass dirt big enough to harm the fuel system [ about 5-10 micron ] , it may plug the filter and need a new one , thats it .
Get everything in writing , & who's who , sounds like you have a fight on your hands .
Let us know what happens .
