pulled out VB, installed shift kit, governor solenoid, and adjusted bands. gear selector is a bit off now, assuming it needs adjustment. Big problem is truck wont shift into higer gear while in drive. In 1 and 2 it seems to go fine but D wont shift into 3rd i believe. 45mph or so is the fastest it will go. I have tried wiggling the gear selector back and forth thinking since it is a bit off it maybe wasnt in D. This had no effect. Any ideas of what the problem is or how to fix? gotta hook up my trailer tomorrow and tow

 

i have fixed the gear selector. truck still will not shift. In D it seems as though it starts out in 2nd gear and wont shift. In 2 it starts in 2nd also. When i manually shift from 1st to 2nd i have to let off the pedal before it shifts from 1st to 2nd. Obviously i screwed something up any ideas on what could be the culprit?

 

Too much line pressure (from the shift kit) will put the transmission into limp mode and cause 2nd and/or 3rd gear starts.

problem solved. pressure sensor had popped out, didnt have it in correctly. Shifts like a charm. no more 1-2 shuttle shift either.

 

i am having a simular problem.... my truck only reaches about 28 mph wide open. i just rebuilt the trans and never feel it shift... can pull it down in first and can feel a hard shift down so im assumeing its shifting but not gaining speed. it doesnt show any codes and the engine light never comes on... im thinkin it might be my accumulator not allowin it to build up pressure.... can anyone help???????
