If it's in 4 wheel drive it would want to hop in a turn but it could be the front or the back hopping. If in 2 wheel drive in a turn and the truck has a limited slip dif and there is not the correct amount of friction modifier added to the rear axle oil then it would feel like it's hopping.
If you get under the truck in neutral and try to shake the drive shafts to see if there is play in the universal joints or hangar bearing. Also the rear pinion going into the axle and the output at the transmission or transfer case if 4X4.

Could someone have put a locker in there? They will hop on turning when giving it a little go pedal. Been there and don't really care for them in a truck driven on the road very much.

Drain the rear end and see what it looks like. Replace fluid and friction modifier and see if it helps.. With those miles and just being purchased who knows when it may have last been serviced. If it was me all of the fluids would be changed so you could start a regular maintenance schedule.

It would help to know more about the truck? Automatic? Standard? Any modifications? Fill out your signature so that others can help diagnose.

Sounds normal if it is limited slip, there is a TSB about it.
