might as well jump on the wagon :D

everyone seems to enjoy pics of each others trucks so...
http://mediaservice.photoisland.com/...4567478399.jpg
http://mediaservice.photoisland.com/...4797051459.jpg

factory options include:
HO with 6 spd man 11.50 rear axle
4x4
Prem cloth
protection grp
trailer tow grp
folding flat load floor
limited slip
rear sliding window
towing mirrors
keyless entry
body side molding
fog lamps
front air dam
leather steering wheel
BFG on/off road tires
clearance lamps

Wish I'd have gotten the aluminum wheels instead, but it wasn't a special order so...

The only thing I have added so far is the front molded mud flaps, and a few coatings of scotch guard on the seats and carpet.
Picked her up on 11/23 and already got 4800 miles :

short list of things I want to do,
front and rear husky liners
chrome bug deflector
spray in liner
running boards or nerfs to keep all the crap from flying up between the door and body
free'er flowing air filter (OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS HERE)

Re:might as well jump on the wagon :D

thanks for the tips and compliments!
I guess I should have said it's a 2500, yeah I used to spend alot of time on a jeep BB, the wrangler is now lifted 8 inches with 36" tires, different axles and t-case...I barely go to that board at all now :P

TCB:I am very happy I got the chrome, almost bought a plastic fronted one, I'm thankful it was pulling off the lot when I got there to test drive it.

DS: That's why I drove 250+ miles to pick mine up, I couldn't wait!

Chris: Just go get a new one! You won't be sorry

Re:might as well jump on the wagon :D

Have you driven any of the second gens? I was just curious how the power difference feels - not just dyno numbers. I'm trying to decide what kind of truck I'm going to get (need one to tow my Jeeps too ). Going to go test drive the 48RE and the NV5600 back-to-back when the 48RE's come in.
Chris

Re:might as well jump on the wagon :D

I used to work for the NC prison system and we had a couple '96 2500s that I spent ALOT of time in. They were autos, and reg cabs.
new gens ride MUCH smooter, MUCH quieter, and even in my 6spd I feel the increase acceleration.
Now the 96's were not HOs and spent 99% of their life idling in first gear( circling the prison over and over, why a CTD 4x4 is needed for this I'll never understand :) And I think they had 3.54s

over thanksgiving I towed my TJ down to the OBX and then over to Charlotte and back home. I don't know if you have ever been on I68 between Morgantown and I70, or I77to rt.19 and I 79 but there are many long rather steep climbs(+6% for 5+ miles) and I never downshifted out of 6th or lost speed. At any time I could put the pedal down and accellerate. It was fun passing cars that were bogging down and down shifting.
Not to mention on the 1800 mile trip I got over 16 mpg with the TJ on the whole time

Re:might as well jump on the wagon :D

Thanks for the report! Would you happen to know how much your TJ and trailer weigh together? I'm trying to get an idea of what mine will weigh. Thanks again.
Chris

Re:might as well jump on the wagon :D

I'm thinking it was very close to 5K, I don't have a trailer yet so for the trip I borrowed a dolly.
On the rest of the trip after leaving the OBX I had about 400 pounds of junk in the bed too.

I'm still searching for a trailer, with as low a bed as possible(and a reasonable price tag)
