1999 4x4 automatic 2500 diesel. When driving at the truck will surge it will do it with or without over drive. There are no codes showing up . Is there a reading that a scan tool can give to see if is a throttle position sensor? or is some thing else ? Thanks for any info

no the cruise control is not on

 

also the other day I removed the battery cabels and cleaned the ends and posts put back together and it seemed fine for a couple of days but driving into work today it seemed to be coming back ?

 

still need some help if any one has any ideas ? thanks
