Truck stalls at freeway speed

Good evening,
I am not sure what to do or where to start looking to fix this serious problem. While driving the truck home I bumped the key with my knee and the truck stalled on me. I put it in neutral and started it up because this has happened before with a knee bump. My fear is that this will happen again with my family on a winding road and that I won't be able to react fast enough with dire consequences. The local dodge dealership said "we've never heard of that before...bring it in and we'll see what our computers tell us". I don't have money to throw away on a guess. Anyone who has experienced this before and has a bullet proof fix I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thank you

Do you have anything on your key? (chain, other keys etc?)
If it's an older truck without chip/transponder on the key you can remove a bit of the key to reduce the probability of that happening. Or you can fabricate a guard that blocks your knee from touching the key.

I had issues with my '03 and put in a new ignition switch. Just checked Rockauto and looks like you can get one for an '03 for under $25. I don't know what truck you have. It isn't difficult to swap out and you keep your same keys. For $25, vs hundreds possibly at the dealer, this is what I would go for first.
Back to morning brew . . .

Thanks for the suggestion. $25 is a cheap alternative to hopefully fixing this issue I have with my 06. Much appreciated

Thanks for the suggestion. Someone else said to possibly buy a new ignition switch. Will see how expensive that is before I start throwing money at it. If it threw a code that would be helpful but it never has. Will keep working on finding a solution. Thanks again.

It won't throw a code because it's working as expected- turn key to off, engine stops.
If your key is too easy to turn or does not latch into the position you will need a new switch.
