Truck lost power...Injector???

Was going up the on ramp today and all of a sudden the power dropped to about 1/2. For someone not knowing the power under the hood, the truck would SEEM to be perfectly normal.
I have lost much hp and it won't blow black smoke anymore. I am now leaking fuel under the hood and it appears to be somewhere along the top portion of the drivers side engine (yes near the fuel rail) can't quite see the exact leak, but it's bad enough I could smell it while driving 70 mph.
I am thinking bad injector, but would this cause a leak?
Any and all help greatly appreciated, thanks, Dan

CHECK OIL your crankcase vent is on driverside of motor if the motor and everything under the truck is wet you may have more fuel in the motor than in the tank check oil level before driving truck again

I checked the oil just after it happened, and then again when I got home from work (75 miles later) and the oil level was the same. I'm gonna drive the car tomorrow just to be safe though.

if the crankcase was overfull, it wouldnt be at the top of the motor. you may have a loose fuel pipe, or a broken 1.
be careful looking for it if the truck is running, 20,000psi can severly hurt you.

Would a bad or craked injector leak outside the motor instead of into the motor ?? If not, then I guess I probably do have just a fuel line leak and if so that may be causing less fuel pressure to the rail meaning the reverse of a pressure box effect...???... Am I correct on this thought? The only thing I would not understand with this theory is WHY would the engine tick be louder ?? Would less fuel rail pressure cause the injectors to get louder ??

checkmate, i am assuming this is about your '03. the injectors are under the valve cover. the fuel pipes go into cast in fuel galleries in the head and the injectors seat against the galleries in the head. there is no way for an injector to leak externally(unless the valve cover is off ). you will find a bad pipe, or leaking relief valve at the rail.

There's a return line going from the injector pump back to the tank. It's rubber for about 18 inches at the back of th engine on the drivers side.I changed one. Be prepared to sacrifice some skin if thats where it's leaking. It's a S.O.B. to repair.
Good Luck.
