Truck died, cranks but won't run!

My 99 Dodge died suddenly while driving. I let off the pedal and was coasting up to a stop sign when it died. I didn't feeling any sputtering, it just died. I cranked it and it wouldn't start, waited until later in the day and tried again and still nothing.
I just had the complete FASS fuel system installed about a month ago and have had no issues. My tank is roughly half full. I can hear the FASS pump running but it won't start. I am not a diesel guru so I really don't know where to start but with diesel @ nearly $4 a gallon and Cummins charging nearly $100 per hour, I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could give me.
Thank you,

See if the fuel cutoff solenoid went bad. If you can on the 99's run a wire from the battery and listen for a click. No click, bad solenoid.

99 don't have a fuel shutoff solanoid.you need to see if you have fuel to the injection pump. crack the line from the lift pump - fuel filter at the inj. pump. bump the starter to run the lift pump and see if you have fuel.if you have fuel there than crack a couple of lines at the injectors and crank it over again looking for fuel.

I'm Betting on the VP44

If it cranks over but won't start, I bet its your Injection Pump. Do you know what fuel pressure you have right now (do you have a gauge)?

Mine died suddenly after hitting a speed bump, and that combined with a hard time getting it started when it was already warmed up, plus hard cold starts......well that equaled a new VP44, Fuel Pressure gauge, Fass 150.....

Check for codes if you can....mine's a 98 so I couldn't. Let us know what codes you are getting.

I will second a injection pump. Sound like the problem a lot of other people have had. If you are mechanically inclined you can do it yourself in about 3 to 4 hours.
