trans oil cooler????
trans oil cooler????
alright i have a 03 with a 4 speed automatic(48re maybe??) and recently the the transmission filled full of anti-freeze and blew the front main converter seal. There are two oil coolers on the truck the one in the radiator and one on the side of the block above the starter. I was told that the problem was in the cooler on the side the block, dodge wants $480 for it, my question is has anyone else had this problem, which cooler was the problem, and if its the one block is there anyone that makes an aftermarket replacement that may be cheaper or atleaTst one that is upgraded and better??
Far as I know the cooler is a Dodge only part.
I've heard of a very few failing.
As long as you aren't towing heavy you can always just abandon and bypass the block cooler. Many people do this to make room for twin turbos.
