tranny & Warranty?
Just took my 02 ram in to have tranny checked. Its not shifting up to second unless you get up the rpms and let of the gas. then you have to ease it along till second takes hold. took to dealer and they said it was toast and theyed be happy to put a new one in for 4100 bucks. I have 77000 mi. on truck. Thought there was a 7yr. 100000mi. warranty on it? anyone know how I can prove it has a 100000 mi warranty? are they nuts or am I just getting old and forgetfull. Help Please!
There's a 7/100 on the cummins. I thought it included the drivetrain as well. For that kind of money you can go out and buy yourself a built aftermarket tranny and never worry again. What do you do with your truck that trashed a tranny in 77,000?
Sorry, Im unable to do anything with the VIN .
The ESN, is located on the drivers side of your engine's front gear cover. You have to open your hood for this. Its written with the rest of the specs. Its in the middle of the plate. It would say "Engine No: xxxxxxxx" Its an eight digit number. I have access to RAPIDSERVE, wich would tell me your warranty coverage, and wether you bought extended coverage, etc, etc, but without the ESN I cant help you.

The center of the plate just has rpm etc. the only #s I saw that you might mean were, family: 2cexho359 - engine#: 5692695 - ref#: 53040202ae. Im sorry I took so long. had to figure out how to prop the hood open tie my boot strings to the hood release while holding the flash light in one hand and trying to hold the paper and write with, well another part.

Just found my original paper work. 7yr 100000mi. tranny and all parts coverd unless used for business, racing etc. then the warranty may not apply. so am I screwed if I use it for towing a lawn mower and snow plowing even though it came with a tow and plow package?
Don't ever mention what you do for a living. I ONLY use my plow to push my personal driveway (or at least as far as they are concerned), but I should be able to pull my trailer as often as I want. It is a truck after all. It shouldn't matter if it's commercial or not if you purchased it under your name.
