Tranny Problem

I Have An 06 With A Built 48re.i Got Out Of The Dealer Today And My Truck Wouldn't Back Up.i Thought The Dealer Was Doing A Power Brake, But He Said The Truck Would Not Back Up.he Thinks Two Bands Were Grabbing.

I Don't Know Much About It.the Linkage Needed Adjusted And It Backs Up Now, But When Shifting It Goes From 1st To 2nd Then 1st To 2nd Etc.it Does That Gear Hunting Real Fast And At Low Rpm's.the Only Way To Avoid That Is To Give Is Fuel.

I Have To Travel 2000 Miles In The Next Few Days , But Don't Want To Hurt Anything. Any Ideas Are Appreciated!!

that hunting between 1st and 2nd gear when your maintaining 7-10mph is common. my 2006 automatic does the same thing. there is a technical service bulletin that describes those symptoms perfecly. Its somewhere on this site. I printed the bulletin out so i can take it to the dealer when I have the time. Its the governor solenoid in the tranny. Its a 45min repair. Nothing major and you won't damage your tranny. Mine does it more when cold, but a little more throttle action makes it go away. search " hunting and tranny"
