i have a 98.5 3500 auto tranny. went out to do some running around put the truck in reverse sound like the throttle was stuck then stalled.started it back up made a really unpleasant noise when in gear put back in park slammed into it park.tried to put in drive stalls instanly(unless i keep up the rpms)the truck will move but does not sound very good.seems to me the tranny is shot but just wanted to see what everybody else thought.somebody else mentioned the converter.it also has the edge in it dont think that makes a diffrence but just trying to put as much info in here i can i. thanktbd

 

fluid level is okay, how many miles on the trans. is it a 47re or rh. can one or more of the bolts on the t/c come loose and it hitting the adapter? (dont ask why im asking this one) hove you been in hi water?

 

fluid level is fine.the tranny was rebuilt just before i bought it it has about 9000 miles on it. i have no idea what tranny it is.
