tranny fluid dumped

11 PM last night, hauling 2 horses. stopped to fuel up. noticed tranny fluid dumped out. looked under, found a disconnected tranny line. reconnected it, tightened it, but was stuck for fluid. refilled it with dexron 3. that's all that was available at 11PM.
Is this safe to drive for a day or two?
What's the BEST fluid for my truck? Manufacturer calls for Mopar 7176 or Dex2. What's ATF 4?
Thanks reply asap

atf+4 is a semi synthetic fluid I think it is a good fluid bottle says it is synthetic but it is just a highly refined dino fluid

Hay 8second, that same thing happend a couple of years ago on my 95, The c-clip fell out causing all the fluid to shoot out, I replaced the line, clip and new filter and fluid, Tranny shifted fine after that, I was worried that i overheated so never really trusted it for long trips. When the clip fell out the tranny lost all power, make sure you change the fluid an filter. good luck

I've been running Dex III for over 250k without problem.
That's what most of the diesel truck tranny experts recommend.
+3 and +4 are just Chrysler's overpriced scam to get your money.

My understanding is that +4 is slipperier (? ?) than +3, and the biggest difference it makes is in TC coupling... ~ 100-200 RPM.

p.s. +4 is definitely another way for DC to relieve us of disposable income!
