torque converter

I have a 95 ram 3500 with an automatic transmission, I need to replace the conv. because of slipping. What would be a good recommended replacment converter.

Thanks Richard

first, diagnose the problem correctly, converters are supposed to "slip". when parked at a stop light it is slipping... is the lock up slipping? or is the trans slipping? do a stall test, then you'll know...does the fluid smell burnt? have you replaced the filter?

the fluid is fine had fluid and filter changed. I have a 30 ft. fifth wheel that I pull with this truck, when going up a steep hill you can feel the torque converter slip a little. A transmission shop told me that the converter was slipping. it only does this with a load behind the truck.

I don't see where you are from, but find an installer that knows what is going on, and search this forum; it is a wealth of knowledge. I have a suncoast, REALLY liked Gorend's warranty and additude and almost bought from him, alot of guys like their ATS, Dunrite makes a solid one, and a few others I have missed. Where are you located?

Your location means as much as who's Converter you put in. There are many good ones out there, budget 1100-1300 for a bulletproof one.

Dave Goerend is a good choice for the Midwest ( in case of issues, I like to stay locally if parts are equal quality )
